Here at the library we have a great resource called ARTstor – it’s a digital library of over 300,000 images and related data.
In addition to ARTstor (which you should definitely check out if you haven’t already), we recently found out about The Google Art Project. Google has collaborated with some of the major museums around the world to allow people to discover new pieces of art and explore new museums they might not otherwise have the chance to get to. Google took their “Street View Technology” and brought it inside museums so you can take virtual tours. The digital images of the highlighted pieces of artwork are super high-resolution and it’s pretty fun to explore and play around with.
