Focus on Online Research: HumanTrafficking.org

Human Trafficking is something that desperately needs to come to an end.  The issue has recently been addressed by celebrities like Ashton Kutcher and Demi Moore (http://www.demiandashton.org/) and it is regularly chosen as a topic for research papers here on campus.

HumanTrafficking.org is a great online resource to help with your researching needs in this area.

“Housed at the Center for Gender Equity at the nonprofit Academy for Educational Development, this site functions as an archive describing the nature of the problems of labor and sexual exploitation of humans, broken out by country.  There’s a link to the 10th Annual Trafficking in Persons report released in June 2010 by Secretary of State Hillary Clinton with coverage of 177 nations; despite some progress, millions continue to suffer modern forms of slavery while human trafficking remains a foremost concern in many countries.” (Library Journal, April 15, 2011, p. 44-45)
