The Gold Rush!

January 24 is a day that has some historical significance – it was on January 24, 1848 that gold was discovered at Sutter’s Creek in California.  This marked the official beginning of the California Gold Rush.  This was an understandably exciting time in American history and it’s really interesting to learn about.  The California State Library put together a digital special collection about the Gold Rush that you can find here.
