The Fall 2012 semester is here and life is good! We just wanted to take a minute to remind you of all the things the library has to offer to help you out with your studies. In case you didn’t know, the library is a lot more than just books.
We’re open Monday – Saturday to accommodate your various personal/academic/working schedules.
- Monday – Thursday: 7:30 a.m. – 10 p.m
- Friday: 7:30 a.m. – 4:30 p.m.
- Saturday: 9 a.m. – 2 p.m.
If you need help during any of those times you can feel free to stop by in person and speak to a librarian at the Reference Desk. If you can’t make it in we also have a chat feature embedded on our website, or you can call us at 636.922.8620. All these options are available during the hours the library is open.
To locate books and more (including ebooks and videos!) you can do a search using our library catalog. Simply type in your keywords/title/author in the search box:
Use our databases to locate articles from academic journals, magazines, and newspapers.
Our databases are accessible (along with the library catalog and our eBook collection) 24/7. If you’re at home and need use a database you’ll be prompted to login with your last name and your SCC ID number. The login screen looks like this:
Computers are readily available on the first floor of the library. They’re first come, first served. We’ve also recently implemented a Pay-for-Print program so make sure you come to campus with your SCC ID and cash if you need to print something out. Our machine takes coins, $1 and $5 bills. The price is $.10/page one-sided and $.15 if you print double-sided – save money by being eco-friendly!
There is a copy machine located behind the reference desk. Black-and-white copies can be made for $.15/copy.
We also have a number of study rooms located on the 2nd floor of the library. As with our computers, they are first come, first served. They are a great place for group work and/or tutoring. All of the rooms have whiteboards you can use.
If you prefer to work in our quiet study space but still need to use a computer we have laptops available for in-library use. You can check them out for two hours with your SCC ID.
New and popular books are highlighted on the first floor of the library so be sure to check those shelves out. A television and vending machines are located at the back of the library right by the Help Desk.
Whew! Did you expect all that?! We look forward to seeing you in the library! Have a wonderful semester!
