It’s Banned Books Week!

If you’ve made it into the library this week you probably noticed our Banned Books display right when you walk in. We’ve got just a few of the books that have been banned or challenged over the years out on display. Some of the titles might surprise you…

So celebrate your freedom to read this week by picking up a banned book – whether it’s Shel Silverstein’s Where the Sidewalk Ends , Joseph Heller’s Catch-22 or Forever by Judy Blume. You can also search “banned books” in the library catalog – we’ve tagged all the titles we have that were banned or challenged.

We also have a “Banned Books Challenge” going on! There are forms at the Banned Books display that ask you to try and figure out the title of a banned book based on its tweeted summary. Fill out the form and if you get all the answers right you’ll be entered to win one of three fabulous prizes! We’ll accept the sheets through Tuesday, October 9.

See you soon!
