Poet of the Day: Lucille Clifton

Julia Wilbers, one of our reference librarians, just “discovered” the poet Lucille Clifton. Some of you may already know of her, but few things beat discovering a poet or author for the first time. This is especially true when there seems to be an instant connection. It is because of Julia’s recently uncovered “obsession” that Lucille Clifton was selected to be today’s Poet of the Day. 😉

Below you’ll find a few clips of Clifton reading her work. If you’d like to explore more of her poetry the library has The Collected Poems of Lucille Clifton, 1965-2010 shelved upstairs and ready to be checked out. Enjoy… you might just connect with her in the same way Julia did 🙂

Happy National Poetry Month!
